United Rentals has purchased a fleet of UpRight TM12 personnel lifts, the high-reach manufacturer said.

United Rentals has purchased a fleet of UpRight TM12 personnel lifts, the high-reach manufacturer said. The U.S.-built TM12 mast lift provides a maximum working height of 18 feet with a 500-pound platform capacity. The unit is designed to allow the operator to drive through a standard doorway or narrow aisles and can be transported in most passenger elevators.

The 80 TM12 units will be deployed at United Rentals branches across the New England region.

UpRight was founded in California in 1946, but machine production was moved to Europe under previous ownership. The new owners reinstated production in Fresno, Calif., last year. The Fresno facility also produces the UpRight MX19 micro-scissor lift and the company’s UL series of push-around lifts.

“Bringing UpRight production back to the USA has demonstrated to our customers that we are serious about the American market,” said UpRight regional sales manager Stu Cohen. “We are encouraged to be winning volume orders from the biggest names in the business like United Rentals.”
