SAN DIEGO and IRVINE, Calif. — Wireless solutions provider Qualcomm Inc. and rental software provider Wynne Systems last month announced the availability of an enhanced integrated equipment management solution using Qualcomm's GlobalTRACS and Wynne's RentalMan. The enhanced software further integrates telematics data from GlobalTRACS with RentalMan's business information capabilities.

“There has been a great deal of demand from our customers for a fully integrated GlobalTRACS/RentalMan solution,” said Larry Cleary, senior director and general manager of construction equipment for Qualcomm. “Whether at the rental desk, service department or corporate office, users will be able to use the integrated data to make more informed business decisions that will have a positive impact on business results, customer service and retention.”

A new feature of RentalMan, exclusive to the GlobalTRACS integrated version, is a more user-friendly critical information screen that highlights the information and equipment that rental counter and maintenance department staff of rental companies need to make informed business decisions, capture additional revenue, control maintenance costs, improve the timeliness of preventive maintenance, manage liens and supervise equipment security. The enhanced software reduces the need for manual data entry.

Users will be able to more easily access and use information about equipment hours, operational history, location, maintenance and administrative data provided by GlobalTRACS. Rental companies can use the data in new and enhanced reporting options in RentalMan. Other new or enhanced functionalities include the capacity to help rental companies capture off-rent revenue, provide more accurate and timely overtime billings and help validate rain day, holiday and downtime credits.

“The enhanced software will give our customers an added level of control over their day-to-day rental operations, maintenance, credit and security functions,” said Wynne Systems president John Bureau.

Irvine, Calif.-based Wynne Systems is a wholly owned subsidiary of United Rentals. Qualcomm Inc. is included in the S&P 500 Index and is a 2005 Fortune 500 company, based in San Diego.
