Michael Smith, a city engineer from St. George, Utah, hit the jackpot at this year's World of Concrete construction industry event in Las Vegas, winning a New Holland L175 SuperBoom skid-steer loader. Rasmussen Equipment Co., the local New Holland dealer in Salt Lake City, will deliver the L175 skid steer to Smith.

In honor of the 35th anniversary of the New Holland skid-steer loader, the company offered the L175 SuperBoom — the newest addition to New Holland's skid-steer loader line — as the grand prize of its "One-Armed Bandit" promotion. CNH Capital, the financial services provider for New Holland equipment, co-sponsored the promotion, offering parts and service gift cards valued from $50 to $250 as prizes.

With more than 90,000 attendees at this year's World of Concrete event, the New Holland booth enjoyed a steady stream of visitors trying their luck with the One-Armed Bandit.

"We are delighted to award this hard-working machine to Michael Smith, a city engineer with strong ties to his local community," said Kirk Gillette, director of marketing for North America at New Holland. "We look forward to cultivating a lasting relationship with Mr. Smith and his family."

Smith said he had been to at least 10 World of Concrete shows in the past, but had never won anything like this before. Upon learning that he'd won the New Holland L175 skid-steer loader, Smith immediately called home to share the good news with family members. Smith said he plans to use the new skid steer to help launch a landscaping business.

Carol Stream, Ill.-based New Holland manufactures and markets a full line of skid-steer loaders, compact track loaders, loader backhoes, tractor loaders, excavators, compact and full-size wheel loaders, crawler dozers, motor graders and telehandlers.
