Link-Belt’s Martz Named Sumitomo Vice President

Chuck Martz, chairman, CEO and president of Link-Belt Construction Equipment Co. was last week named vice president of parent company Sumitomo Heavy Industries Ltd., becoming the first U.S.-based executive from a subsidiary to earn such a role in Sumitomo.

Chuck Martz, chairman, CEO and president of Link-Belt Construction Equipment Co. was last week named vice president of parent company Sumitomo Heavy Industries Ltd., becoming the first U.S.-based executive from a subsidiary to earn such a role in Sumitomo.

The appointment is effective April 1.

Martz joined Link-Belt in 1975 in his hometown of Lexington, Ky., where Link-Belt is based. After serving in various accounting and financial positions, Martz became vice president of finance and administration going on to be vice president of manufacturing and executive vice president. He was named president in 1998 and CEO in 2007, becoming chairman of the board earlier this year.
