JLG Receives AEM Marketing Awards

McConnellsburg, Pa.-based JLG Industries was awarded the Platinum Award for overall highest ranked entry and Gold Awards in the “Direct Mail, Single Piece” and “Press Kit” categories in the “Measures of Success” marketing communications awards program by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers. The awards were announced at the association’s recent marketing communications seminar in Baltimore, Md.

The “Measures of Success” awards program was sponsored by AEM’s Publications in Construction and Agriculture (PICA) group to recognize outstanding marketing communications in the off-road (construction, agriculture, forestry, mining and utility) equipment manufacturing industry. The program featured categories for magazine ads, product literature, direct mail and press kits that appeared during 2004 or 2005. JLG’s entries were entered in the $50 million revenue and above category. The criteria for judging included overall effectiveness, achievement of the stated objectives, clarity of the message, visual impact and production values. A panel of business-to-business agencies, industrial marketers, university marketing communications professors and PICA publishers judged the advertising, direct mail and literature entries, while press kits were evaluated by PICA industry editors.
