Deere Cuts 120 Workers at Iowa Plant

Moline, Ill.-based Deere & Co. last week told employees at its Davenport Works plant in Mount Joy, Iowa, it will lay off 120 non-salaried workers there, according to the Quad-City Times. In addition, 70 employees will be transferred to the company’s East Moline Harvester Works plant.

Davenport Works, which employed 720 before last week’s announcement, manufactures articulated dump trucks, four-wheel-drive loaders, motor graders, log skidders, and wheeled feller bunchers and cabs. The Harvesters Works plant primarily produces farm equipment.
