Manitowoc, Wis.-based Manitowoc Co. recently announced plans to shutter production of its National Crane articulated brand boom truck line by the end of the year, citing the brand’s market positioning as the primary reason for the closing.

Though no new orders will be accepted, the company said it will deliver existing orders and continue to service and support the National Crane line articulated boom trucks indefinitely through its Manitowoc Crane Care.

RER Reports previously reported incorrectly that Manitowoc Co. was closing the National Crane line. In fact, the only product line that the company will stop producing is National’s articulated boom trucks.

“The National Crane brand is alive and well,” Chris Bratthauar, Manitowoc marketing communications manager told RER Reports.

RER regrets the error.
