JCB last week announced that Van Clarkson is joining the company as its vice president of sales for the Eastern Region.

In his position with JCB, Clarkson will be responsible for all dealer sales in North America’s Eastern Region, with all eight district managers in this sales territory reporting directly to him. Clarkson will also be tasked with strengthening JCB’s distribution network and working with dealers in the Eastern Region to increase both market share and overall revenues.

Clarkson has held a number of positions in the equipment manufacturing and financing industries, including stints with Komatsu Finance America and Associates Commercial Corp. He comes to JCB from his most recent position as vice president of sales for Hyster Co., a leading global manufacturer of materials handling equipment. Prior to his tenure as Hyster’s vice president of sales, Clarkson also served as the company’s director of fleet management and as its regional finance manager.

“Van will play a key role in communicating and carrying out JCB’s core initiatives in the Eastern Region,” said John Patterson, chairman of JCB North America. “I believe that he has the energy, skills and experience necessary to take sales in this region to the next level.”

Savannah, Ga.-based JCB has 18 plants on four continents: 11 in the U.K., three in India and others in the U.S., China, Germany and Brazil.
