Atlas Copco Appoints Delvaux President of its Construction Business

Atlas Copco this week appointed Nico Delvaux president of the Construction Technique business area and member of group management, effective Oct. 1. Delvaux is currently president of the Compressor Technique Service division.

“Nico has good strategic capabilities, a strong commitment in execution and a broad knowledge of our global industrial businesses,” said Ronnie Leten, CEO and president of the Atlas Copco Group. “These will be great assets for the development of our new Construction Technique business area and for the Atlas Copco Group.”

Delvaux is a Belgian citizen. He started his career with Atlas Copco in 1991 as a quality assurance engineer in the Oil-free Air division in Antwerp, Belgium. He has managed positions in sales, marketing, aftermarket, quality management, acquisition-integration management and general management, in markets including Benelux, Italy, Canada and the United States. He has held his current position since January 2008.

The Construction Technique business area was formed on July 1, consisting of the divisions Road Construction Equipment, Construction Tools, Portable Energy and Construction Technique Service, with total revenues of SEK 11.5 billion (about U.S. $1.8 billion) in 2010.

Delvaux and his team will have the mission to achieve strong volume growth and profitability through developing the business area’s market presence and by having a continuous flow of innovative products. Delvaux will be based in Antwerp until July 1, 2012, when he will relocate to China.
