RSC Equipment Rental recently received the Access Industry Sustainability Award from the International Powered Access Federation and Access International magazine, as previously reported in RER Reports.

The inaugural award recognizes a rental company that has demonstrated a commitment to sustainability, encompassing its impact on the environment and its wider corporate social responsibility policies. The honor was announced at the International Awards for Powered Access ceremony in London last month.

Among RSC’s sustainability efforts in 2009, the launch of its Equipment Emission Tracking (E2T) solution, which automatically calculates greenhouse gas and criteria pollutant emissions from the use of its equipment, was a distinct industry development. The IAPA judges stated that RSC’s emissions tracking system “will set the standard for environmental awareness and customer services in the rental business worldwide.”

“We applaud the IPAF and Access International for being progressive in establishing this award and RSC is honored to be its first recipient,” said Kevin Groman, senior vice president and head of the company’s sustainability efforts. “We recognize the importance of sustainable-based customer driven innovation, like E2T, and are so pleased with the positive impact it is having on our customers, the industry and the environment.”
