Wacker Purchases Ground Heaters

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. — Wacker Corp. last month finalized the purchase of Ground Heaters Inc. of Spring Lake, Mich. Ground Heaters is a manufacturer of portable hydronic heating equipment and indirect-fired air heaters for construction industry customers in North America and Europe.

“We have been looking for an acquisition to expand our product offering and in Ground Heaters we have found the perfect fit of quality product and innovative technology,” said Christopher Barnard, Wacker president and CEO. Wacker and Ground Heaters will now jointly build on the proven strengths of both organizations to continue to deliver the best overall value to construction industry customers.”

Wacker officials said Ground Heaters Inc. will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Wacker Corp. and will continue to operate as usual. For Wacker, which typically grew through organic product development and marketing agreements with other manufacturers, the acquisition is the first in its history.

Wacker has been designing and manufacturing light construction equipment in the United States since 1957.
