GREENWICH, Conn. — United Rentals recently acquired Carter Rental of Valdosta, Ga. The general rental company has two branches in that city, with annual revenues of about $10 million.

“Carter's operations are ideally positioned to complement our branch network serving southern Georgia and northern Florida,” said Kenneth Perkins, vice president, southeast region for United. “The acquisition enhances our ability to share equipment and provide expert solutions to customers in the region.”

Based in Greenwich, Conn., United Rentals is the largest equipment rental company in North America, No. 1 on the RER 100 with more than 750 locations, 48 U.S. states, 10 Canadian provinces and Mexico.
