CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Sunbelt Rentals opened its new full-service general tool and equipment location in Miami on March 1. The new location will serve customers in Dade County, which includes downtown Miami, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, South Beach, Hialeah, Homestead, Cutler Ridge, Key Biscayne and Kendall, plus it will serve the Caribbean Islands. The location will feature a predominantly bilingual staff, from rental managers to sales people to profit center managers.

“The new general tool location in Miami will help us continue the clustering dynamic that makes Sunbelt successful,” said Duane Francis, South Florida division manager. “The Miami branch will provide an additional location that offers superior service to the customers we've been serving at our Pembroke Pines and Ft. Lauderdale general tool and equipment locations as well as our South Florida AWP, pump & power and scaffolding branches.”

The Miami branch also serves as a satellite location for Sunbelt's South Florida pump and power location. It features a 12,000-square-foot-building and three acres of paved concrete to house its initial $3 million equipment fleet, which offers a core product range of more than 1,000 different items, including hand tools, lawn and garden, concrete equipment, air compressors, pumps, material handling and forklifts, generators, welding equipment, backhoe loaders, skid-steer loaders, rollers, aerial equipment, scaffolding, lighting, ventilation and remediation products. Francis anticipates the fleet size will double in the first three years to accommodate customer growth and demand.

“This Miami location will help Sunbelt establish the market in the area. It is a precursor to additional store openings in the next 12 months,” added Francis. “These new openings will fuel our growth through the clustering strategy.”
