GREENWICH, Conn. — United Rentals celebrated the relocation of its flagship branch in New York City with a grand re-opening event on Thursday, June 28. The equipment rental branch also houses a contractor supplies showroom, maintenance facility and full-service yard. Located on Manhattan's West Side, the 45,000-square-foot property is nearly twice the size of the former rental location.

The company, which has served the New York City market since 2001, also operates a satellite branch on Liberty Street, and a second satellite branch on the city's Upper East Side.

“It has been six years of steady growth for United Rentals here in the metro area,” said Steve Nadelman, senior vice president — field operations and corporate real estate for United Rentals. “With our move into this impressive new facility, we have expanded our ability to serve our contractor, industrial, municipal and homeowner customers in the five boroughs. This branch demonstrates our commitment to New York City and its surrounding boroughs.”

The Manhattan grand re-opening is one of 15 major branch relocations completed by United Rentals in the past year as part of the company's program of continuous improvement.

The Manhattan branch carries a broad range of equipment for commercial and industrial construction, renovation and maintenance, including the latest technologies in aerial work platforms. United Rentals also offers delivery and pickup services, certified safety and operator training, and 24-hour emergency response.
