The Vermeer BC1000XL brush chipper is capable of processing material up to 12 inches in diameter. The unit offers an 85-hp Tier-3 engine, a large infeed opening, a clutchless PTO and a rubber-torsion suspension for efficient chipping of brush and trees. The BC1000XL features the Vermeer-patented SmartFeed system that monitors engine rpm and automatically stops or reverses the rollers when feeding larger hardwood material. In addition, it senses feed roller jams and responds by automatically shifting material back and forth, reducing the need to manually manipulate the control bar. The bottom feed stop bar is strategically located to make it possible for the operator to strike the bar and shut off the feed either intentionally or automatically in an emergency situation.
