Drain-cleaning equipment

General Pipe Cleaners

The Easy Rooter from General Pipe Cleaners is now easier to use. The redesigned frame features a built-in brake that holds the machine securely on the job or in a customer's car going to and from the job. Capable of clearing 3- to 10-inch drain lines clogged with roots and other severe stoppages, the Easy Rooter cage holds 100 feet of 3/4-inch or 5/8-inch Flexicore cable. Other features include a powder-coated square-tube steel frame with special roll bars to protect the motor; roller bearings in the zinc-plated steel cage for longer life and greater motor efficiency; 10-inch ball bearing wheels; a zinc-plated folding handle that takes less room in the customer's car trunk; and a 1/3-hp motor with capacitor, thermal overload protection and reverse switch. An air actuated foot pedal, ground fault circuit interrupter and safety slip clutch are all standard safety features.

Electric Eel

The new Electric Eel Model CT features variable-speed motor control designed to give the operator maximum cable control and cleaning power from 75 to 350 rpm with constant torque. Engineered to clean 3/4-inch to 2 ½-inch diameter drain lines up to 50 feet, the standard Model CT counter-top drain cleaner features a hand-tighten Jacobs Chuck. The CT is also available with a 2-way auto cable feed that keeps hands off rotating cable as it advances and retrieves cable with the push of a lever. A cable guide hose eliminates cable whipping and helps keep work areas clean, and a heavy-duty housing protects the motor and internal wiring.

Ridge Tool

Ridge Tool introduces the Ridgid K-400 drain cleaner, which features an improved portable design for plumbing contractors to better navigate on the jobsite. The full integrated wheeled cart design and built-in telescoping handle provide contractors ease of use and transportation. The CSA-approved K-400 has a 1/3-hp motor, which spins cable at 190 rpm. The motor is positioned above the drum for improved stability and balance, along with added leg clearance during transport. With the capacity to store 100 feet of 3/8-inch or 75 feet of ½-inch cable, the polyethylene drum is corrosion and rust resistant.

MTA Distributors

MTA Distributors offers TEC-Chem LLC's Drain Clean Enzymatic one gallon BX/4. Formulated with natural enzymes and mild detergents, this non-toxic and biodegradeable waste degrader is designed to work fast to devour organic matter and then continues to work until the source is completely eliminated. Unlike bleach, which is commonly used to control black flies, Drain Clean removes the source — trapped grease and food byproducts that build up in drains, traps and turns. Applications include floor and sink drains, soda and beer towers, ice machine drains, commercial trash compactors, septic tanks and grease traps.
