Volvo Construction Equipment introduces the upgraded G900 Series of motor graders. The C-Series motor graders consists of four models — G930C, G940C, G946C (AWD) (shown) and G960C. They feature D8J engines, which provide three variable power ranges when equipped with a standard eight-speed transmission and eight variable power ranges when equipped with an optional 11-speed transmission. Preliminary tests show savings of up to 5 percent in fuel consumption over previous models. They come standard with ROPS/FOPS certified cab and steering that can be controlled by traditional levers and a steering wheel or optional joystick controls.
The new Terex TL120 compact wheel loader features the new Terex Smart Control operating system, a quieter cab with a better view to the ground and a new cooling system. The wheel loader features a 101 hp Deutz engine that provides the 16,653-pound operating weight TL120 with approximately 16 percent more power and 90 percent lower exhaust emissions compared to its predecessor. It also features a Tier 4i engine cooling system that uses a hydraulically operated and temperature-controlled fan. A revised steering system reduces the effort needed to turn the wheel.
Komatsu America Corp. introduces its HM300-5 articulated dump truck. Featuring a net 324 HP, the HM300-5 is powered by a Komatsu SAA6D125E-7 engine. With a 30.9 U.S. ton payload and a gross vehicle weight of 117,892 pounds, the HM300-5 maintains the productivity and performance of the previous model with improved fuel efficiency. A high resolution 7-inch LCD monitor offers enhanced capabilities and displays information in 25 languages for global support. The HM300-5 is equipped with the latest KOMTRAX remote monitoring technology with data access via the web or via KOMTRAX Mobile on your smart phone.
JCB is launching a new range of midi excavators in the compact excavator arena. The first three machines being unveiled are the 67C-1 and 86C-1 conventional tail swing models and the 85Z-1 (shown) zero tail-swing excavator. Among the key features of the new CTS and ZTS models are: 10-percent lower fuel consumption, 30-degree tilting cab for better service access, 500-hour greasing intervals, 6 percent more spacious cab, 11 percent more visibility, and 100 percent steel bodywork for better durability. The excavators are powered by all-new JCB by Kohler diesel engines, delivering 55 hp in the 14,770-pound machine and 64 hp in the 18,700-pound models.
John Deere upgrades three models on its G-Series excavator line – the 250G LC (shown), 350G LC and 380G LC. The 250G LC features a 188 hp certified Final Tier 4 John Deere PowerTech PVS 6.8L engine. Both the 350G LC and 380G LC boast a rugged certified Final Tier 4 John Deere PowerTech PSS 9.0L engine with horsepower at 271 hp (350G LC) and 271 hp (380G LC). The new G-Series models come with a larger hood for improved engine access. Other improvements include a single-side ground-evel fluid filter service.
Case Construction Equipment introduces the new CX75C SR (shown) and CX80C mid-sized excavators. Key advancements include a 5-percent improvement in fuel efficiency, a 7-percent faster cycle time, 20-percent larger fuel tank for extended runtimes and a 7-percent wider cab for increased productivity. The new models also offer 9 percent more hydraulic power than previous models for greater digging power and responsiveness. The CX75C SR and CX80C weigh 16,200 pounds and 18,800 pounds, respectively. Both machines operate at 55.2 net horsepower and provide a digging force of 12,800 pounds.
Hyundai introduces three new wheeled excavator models, the R140W-9A (shown), R180W-9A and the R210W-9A. The R140/180/210W-9A models are mid-size excavators that are designed for excavating projects, road and utility work and demolition. The R140W-9A, R180W-9A and R210W-9A have operating weights of 30,200 pounds, 38,100 pounds and 45,200 pounds, respectively. Hyundai has powered each of these 9A wheeled excavators with low emission, low noise, Cummins QSB6.7 Interim Tier 4/Stage IIIB engines. Other innovations include the variable speed fan clutch, two-stage auto decel system and the economy mode help to conserve fuel and reduce environmental impact.
Doosan has added the DX420LC-5, DX490LC-5 (shown) and DX530LC-5 to its Tier 4 compliant crawler excavator lineup. The excavators features engine optimized for use with a high-pressure common-rail fuel delivery system and a cooled exhaust gas recirculation system. It boasts an improved 7-inch LCD display panel with a rear view camera and/or optional side camera and a split screen that allows both camera displays to be viewed at once. New additions to the monitor include the DEF gauge and improved fuel efficiency. The units also feature improved anti-skid plates, auto belt tensioner, fan and air conditioning, auto-shutdown and battery upgrades to minimize downtime.
