The 12-inch dual-slide miter saw from Makita features a 15-amp direct-drive motor and delivers 3,200 rpm. It offers a compact design with a patented 4-steel rail sliding system that further increases rigidity to produce better cuts. An independent laser indicates line-of-cut whether the blade is turning or not, with an on/off switch and micro-adjustments for precise left-of-blade or right-of-blade cutting.
Speedy Hire, the United Kingdom’s largest tool and equipment rental company, recently invested in Makita’s dual-slide miter saw to meet demand from contractors in the timber industry. “Our fleet now includes the Makita Deep Exact miter saw, which enables greater accuracy and has a robust design to increase reliability and prolong the length of time it can be used for,” says Any Connor, supply chain director for Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside, U.K.-based Speedy.
