RGC

RGC HydraSaws use hydraulic direct drive power to cut masonry, concrete and stone without excessive noise, vibration or exhaust fumes. HydraSaws will cut walls and floors in confined spaces and under water. Cutting depths range from 5.25 inches to 9.5 inches and HydraSaws will operate from an RGC HydraPak or other compatible hydraulic sources, such as excavation equipment.

Garry Weiss, owner of Arrow Equipment in New London, Conn., has used the RGC HydraSaw in his basement and says it works well for places where the user wouldn't want fumes or odor. “I've used it myself and it seems to cut like butter,” Weiss says. “It's a nice, lightweight, easy-to-use saw.”

Multiquip

Multiquip's new Mason Pro masonry saws provide professional cutting performance for stone, ceramics, pavers, brick, block and other masonry products. The MP1 series saws are designed for masonry cutting applications and are built with a reinforced, jig-welded steel frame that provides rigidity for cutting accuracy and promotes a long service life. The MP2 series saws have a reinforced steel frame to ensure accurate cutting, maximum durability and extended service life. A finely balanced cutting head assembly complements cutting and a foot pedal control allows the operator to easily raise or lower the blade to the precise cutting depth. To enhance the performance of each Mason Pro masonry saw, a number of wet and dry segmented diamond blades from Multiquip's Diamond Back Cutting Division are available.

CS Unitec

CS Unitec introduces a pneumatic concrete chain saw, designed to easily cut through reinforced concrete, brick, block, concrete pipe and natural stone. The CS 71773 air saw cuts up to 14-inches deep in one pass and cuts mechanical openings, irregular shapes and square corners. The saw can be used hand-held or with the optional SpeedHook guide to make straight cuts through walls and other surfaces. This air-powered concrete saw can be used with a range of diamond saw chains to cut a variety of masonry materials. The saw has 11- or 15-inch long guidebars to lubricate the diamond chain and flush the cutting area with water to cool the chain and remove the slurry.

Partner Industrial Products

The new K950 Ring Saw from Partner Industrial Products is designed to operate in extreme environments such as concrete cutting. It eliminates the need for oversized rotary saw blades, diamond chain saws and hydraulic saws, while providing maximum operational efficiency with minimum physical effort, the company says. The saw's deep cutting ability results from a drive principle whereby two engagement rollers fit into a groove on the side of the blade and force the blade, under spring tension, forward on the drive wheel. The blade is guided by four rollers at the outside edge of the blade.

A&R Demolition, a demolition contractor in Austin, Texas, used the new Partner ring saw to cut 10-foot by 17-foot openings in the exterior walls of the historic 17-floor Texas State Hotel in downtown Houston.

“This new ring saw has cut the entire job in half,” says Chris Richardson, a principal with A&R Demolition. “It has saved more than half the cutting we've had to do because it cuts all the way through in one cut. Since we're saw-cutting an entrance onto every floor, that amounts to saving a lot of time and money.”

Bosch

The Bosch 1365K 14-inch and 1364K 12-inch abrasive cut-off machine kits are 15 amp, 4,300 rpm and 5,000 rpm, respectively. These tools remove sparks, dust and debris away from the operator, but offer the ability to still reverse the cutting position, if necessary. With AC/DC compatibility, each can also be plugged into a welder or generator. Reinforced armature windings protect the motor against abrasive dust and metal debris. ServiceMinder brushes shut the machines off when preventive maintenance is needed.

RedMax

RedMax's heavy-duty, user-friendly HC510DV cut-off saw is designed for all rental centers, but has features that are suited for those renting to do-it-yourselfers. The saw features a powerful 49cc, 2-cycle engine that is protected by an air cleaner to ensure a dust-free air intake system and provide water protection. A semi-automatic decompression system reduces starting effort and kickback. The dust catcher is powered by a high rpm fan that swallows dust with no blow-back and feeds the collection bag via a loft hose. The saw has a center balance design for accurate cuts, and eight rubber anti-vibration points virtually eliminate the transmission of vibration to the operator.

Wacker

Wacker's 12-inch and 14-inch BTS portable cut-off saws are lightweight and are designed to be comfortable to operate. These saws use a heavy-duty plastic to reduce weight, and the ergonomic design produces less vibration to the operator. Electronic ignition ensures easy starts and top performance in damp or dusty conditions. The four models in this series range in weight from 21 to 22 pounds and have cutting depths of 3.8 to 5 inches. These cut-off saws feature gasoline engines with horsepower of 4.7 and 5.6.

The water kit can be attached to a water hose, a pressurized water tank or a gravity fed water tank on the Stihl Cutquik cart. The TS 400 has a 4.4-hp, 64 cc engine and the Stihl IntelliCarb compensating carburetor that maintains the ratio of fuel to air keeping the engine at full power and increasing the time between air filter cleaning.

General Equipment

Designed to follow random crack patterns in asphalt and concrete surfaces, General Equipment's CS8 random crack saw uses 8-inch diameter dry cut-type diamond blades to produce smooth-sided cuts for proper crack filling procedures. Power is supplied by an 11-hp Honda engine equipped with a Cyclone-type air filter system for maximum protection against fine-grained dust contamination. An available propane engine conversion allows use in confined areas where gasoline exhaust fumes are not permissible. A center-mounted blade configuration allows the CS8 to center pivot about its own axis to more easily follow random crack patters.
