Aerial lift manufacturer Snorkel will showcase its range of twin deck scissorlifts at ConExpo 2011, featuring a 60-foot model — the tallest product of its type currently on the market, according to the company.

Snorkel’s preliminary specifications for the S6090RT are a lift capacity of 1,250 pounds; width of 90 inches; and a platform height of 60 feet. With the standard dual-deck extensions fully extended, it provides a work area almost 24 feet long.

Powered by a Kubota 44-hp water-cooled diesel engine, the S6090RT is the largest in a new family of four twin-deck, rough-terrain construction scissors that also includes lifts with platform heights of 32, 43 and 52 feet. All-steel construction and Snorkel’s ‘keep-it-simple’ design philosophy make the machines suitable for demanding construction rental applications.

Snorkel also continues the development of its integral mid-sized boom range with the launch of the latest addition to the Polaris family, the all-new A62JRT articulated rough-terrain boomlift.

Preliminary specifications are for a platform height of 62 feet, outreach of 42 feet and ‘up-and-over’ clearance height of 30 feet. Additional versatility is provided by the 8-foot jib and Snorkel’s spacious 8-foot-wide, three-way entry platform with 500 pounds capacity.

The A62JRT is the first articulated boom on Snorkel’s new common Polaris chassis, first introduced in 2010 on the T46JRT telescopic boom (pictured). Utilizing a common chassis across several mid-size models (also including the forthcoming T66JRT) provides customers with ease of maintenance and low cost of operation.

“We are really excited about the new A62JRT,” said Richard Tindale, Snorkel sales and marketing director. “Together with the recently launched A46JRT, T46JRT and T66JRT, it provides us with a range of mid-sized booms that deliver a performance equal to or better than any other product on the market, while retaining Snorkel’s trump card of easy service, trouble-shooting and repair.”

ConExpo is March 22-26 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
