Hilti last week unveiled its newest tool for rental, the DD 160 Diamond Coring System, at The Rental Show in Las Vegas. The DD 160 has a simple and self-explanatory design, making it well suited for rental companies. A power control LED helps inexperienced users achieve the optimum rate of drilling progress and maximum core bit life under all conditions.
The new coring system completes the Hilti lineup of core rigs by providing optimized performance in rig-based wet coring work on concrete walls and floor decks, including drilling holes in diameters up to 8 inches. It is also suited for drilling penetrations for pipes of all kinds, through-holes for ventilation ducts or cable installations.
The DD 160 Diamond Coring System features a 2,200-watt motor and three-speed gearing. It is available with a choice of two different drill stands. The basic version is equipped with a compact base plate for anchor fastening. The premium stand offers adaptability with features such as a tilt mechanism and vacuum base plate for convenient vacuum fastening.
