Advantage Marketing Communications hosted its fourth ConExpo press event prior to the start of ConExpo last month, and more than 100 editors of the construction industry's leading publications converged at the Hofbrauhaus in Las Vegas.

The 2008 event sponsors were Loadrite, NESCO (National Environmental Services Co.), Sakai America, Compact Power and TransTech Systems.

At the event Hackettstown, N.J.-based NESCO discussed how state and federal governments are cracking down on dust emissions with costly fines, and that a safe and economical way to combat these expensive costs is compliance. NESCO offers a number of innovative solutions for dust control compliance, including the DustPro spray system, DustBoy spray system, DirtSquirt wheel-wash system and its SpreadKleen spray system.

Adairsville, Ga.-based Sakai America introduced its new 880 and 990 asphalt rollers, compact TW and SW 320 and 330 models, the 652ND and its 510-III soil roller. Sakai also had a testing area in its booth where Sakai engineers demonstrated the new Intelligent Compaction System.

TransTech of Schenectady, N.Y., introduced its soil density gauge and its notched wedge joint maker, which attaches to a paver screed and provides a short vertical notch and tapered edge to provide a solid surface and longitudinal joint interlock to the adjacent lane while paving. The company’s shoulder wedge maker mounts easily on the end of any paver screed and enables the paver operator to quickly and easily shape the road edge to include a beveled fillet of up to 45 degrees.

Morrisville, N.C.-based Loadrite, a global leader in the manufacture and distribution of onboard weighing solutions for wheel loaders, forklifts, skid steers, excavators, backhoes and other loading equipment, featured its new X-Weigh 2350 excavator scale at ConExpo 2008, as well as its Road Boss and Pit Boss products and its Loadout Management System software for each of these units.

Compact Power, Fort Mill, S.C., extended its line of compact equipment at ConExpo with the launch of its new 700 Series compact loaders, new Boxer 322 mini-skid steer, new Boxer 118 dedicated trencher and its new Boxer 106 motorized wheelbarrow.
