The International Powered Access Federation will feature a walk-through learning experience on how to use powered access equipment safely and effectively at the Bauma construction show in Munich April 15-21. The IPAF stand N1115 in the outdoor area will highlight its “Spread the Load” campaign promoting the correct use of spreader plates, share results and findings from the accident reporting database, and provide a meeting point for members to network and discuss issues in a relaxed setting.

As part of IPAF’s ongoing “Job Access” project to attract young people to the aerial industry, visitors to the stand will be invited to take a short interactive quiz, which takes participants on a learning tour of safety themes to consider when using aerial equipment, using eye-catching graphic art and snappy phrases.

“When people work at height, they still tend to turn to traditional methods without first thinking if mobile elevating work platforms or mast-climbing work platforms might make the job safer and more productive,” said IPAF CEO Tim Whiteman. “Falls from height are still the single largest killer in the workplace — powered access is a good way of solving this problem. The IPAF Safety Experience at Bauma is all about showing people what powered access equipment is, what it can do and how to use it safely for the best results.”

The IPAF stand reception will be held April 17 at 5 p.m.
