Yanmar offers its YDG diesel-driven generators for continuous or stand-by power applications. The smallest unit in this series, the YDG2700, weighs 141 pounds and has an output of 2.5 kW. The mid-size YDG3700 weighs 181 pounds, has an output of 3.7 kW and is powered by the L70V6-GY series engine. The YDG5500 is the largest unit, weighing 243 pounds and offering an output of 5.5 kW. An open-frame structure makes the units easy to handle.
Cummins Power Generation
The 1500 kW Rental Power unit adds to the Cummins Power Generation portfolio of Rental Power systems from 35 kW to 2 MW for prime, emergency, standby, peak shaving and distributed generation applications. A temperature-tolerant cooling system provides reliable operation in ambient temperatures to 113 degrees F, enabling the generator set to operate at maximum load without de-rating in a range of demanding climates. The fuel tank holds 1,600 gallons of fuel for a run time of 22 hours at prime power before refueling. The new Rental Power unit meets Tier-2 emission requirements and can be fueled with B20 biodiesel fuel.
Baldor Electric Co.
Baldor offers generators from 1 to 2,000 kW that are designed to provide reliability while meeting NEMA, NFPA110, CSA and UL standards. The company’s industrial portables are available from 3 to 11 kW. Its towables are available from 25 to 500 kVA and designed for industrial, commercial and rental applications. In addition, custom towable units are available to 2 megawatts.
Honeywell introduces two new inverter generator models, the HW1000i and HW2000i. These units have continuous outputs of 900 watts and 2,000 watts respectively, and are compact, lightweight and easy to use. The units are designed for light-duty use around the home, camping, RV, marine and tailgating.
Coleman Cable introduces generator adaptors and cord sets that maximize the use of generators because they are designed to accommodate most NEMA receptacles on generators sized to 11,000 watts. The “Y” generator adapter models increase the number of useable 20-amp connectors. They convert standard generator NEMA L14-30; L14-20; L5-30 and L5-20 receptacles into two standard useable NEMA 5-20 connectors. The 50-foot and 100-foot 10/3 SJTOW extension cords include NEMA L5-20 or 5-20 ends and are rated at 20 amps for maximum power and tool performance.
Generac Power Systems offers the GeneracGuardian series of automatic standby power generators to meet the power needs of any home. Automatic standby generators operate on natural gas or liquid propane vapor, so there are none of the fuel storage, spillage, spoilage or odor concerns that are common with gasoline or diesel models. Because of their favorable emissions profile, gaseous-fueled generators, like the Generac Guardian series line, are becoming increasingly popular as an environmentally conscious solution for backup power needs.
