Cordless saw kit as all the trimmings

The Makita 18V LXT Lithium-ion cordless 5 3/8-inch trim saw kit, model BSS501, weighs 5.7 pounds and is compact in design. The trim saw is powered by a Makita-built, high-torque motor that produces 3,600 rpm. The kit includes a carbide-tipped 16T blade, two LXT Lithium-ion batteries, Makita's 25-minute Rapid Optimum Charger and a heavy-duty case.

The trim saw features an ergonomic shape and rubberized soft grip that delivers better control and less operator fatigue. The large lock-off lever is easy to operate, even while wearing gloves. The saw also includes a built-in L.E.D. light for better illumination and more accurate work, as well as a front-mounted blower to keep sawdust off the line of cut.

“One of the most important specs of the BSS501 trim saw is the maximum cutting depth,” says Wayne Hart, communications manager for Makita USA. “At 0 degrees, the maximum depth is 2 inches, so this saw can trim any 2x lumber, including 2×4, 2×6, 2×8, etc.”

The BSS501 is a light, powerful cordless saw designed for professional woodworkers and finishing carpenters. It is also suited for builders and other professional trades making cuts overhead, in tight spaces, or through light material that does not require a standard size circular saw.

Verified by Wayne Hart, communications manager for Makita USA.
