John Deere's 110 Tractor Loader Backhoe is designed to provide power, productivity and versatility to landscape and construction applications. Featuring a 43-hp Yanmar diesel engine and direct fuel injection, the 110 TLB starts quickly, even in cold weather, and complies with Tier 2 emissions requirements. It also offers the LoadMatch load-sensing drive system to minimize stalling and maximize productivity. Standard skid-steer mounting plates accept skid-steer attachments in front, and provide optional auxiliary hydraulic functions and an optional quick coupler for backhoe buckets.
Leon White, superintendent of parks and grounds for the city of Hammond, La., used the 110 TLB for cleanup after Hurricane Katrina struck last year. “After Katrina hit we needed to clear streets and driveways of debris so people could start moving around,” White says. “When we purchased the 110, we had the regular digging bucket that was great for pushing debris, but we also needed something to pick up the larger tree limbs. After the storm, we were able to find a grapple bucket that enabled us to pick up and move the large trees with ease.”
