TruServ last week announced the opening of three new rental businesses, bringing its total of rental businesses opened in 2003 to 65.

Grand Rental Station in Clinton, N.C., owned by Joel Smith, opened a stand-alone rental center with a full line of construction, landscaping equipment and party supplies. Omni True Value, a hardware store in West Babylon, N.Y., owned by Brad Meyers, opened a Just Ask Rental department inside the existing store. And Junction True Value, Junction, Texas, is scheduled to open a Just Ask Rental department inside the store in the next few weeks. According to rental manager Dustin Newton, this will be Junction’s first rental business, with the closest rental company is 50 miles away.

Chicago-based TruServ is one of the world’s largest member-owned wholesale hardware cooperatives, with about 6,300 independent retailer locations worldwide operating under the identities of True Value, Grand Rental Station, Taylor Rental, Party Central, Home & Garden Showcase and Induserve Supply.
