Spider Hires Joel Smith as Central Region Director

Spider, a division of SafeWorks, LLC, recently welcomed Joel Smith as area director for the Central region.

Smith brings 17 years of rental industry experience to Spider and has had geographical responsibilities over most of the Western United States and several Canadian provinces. He has served in various operations and sales roles throughout his career, at the branch, district, and regional level for rental companies including Hertz Equipment Rental Corp., US Rentals, and most recently United Rentals.

“Joel is an excellent addition to our field organization,” said John Sotiroff, vice president, Spider sales and distribution. “He has a solid background in the rental business and has demonstrated a keen awareness of identifying customer needs and matching the appropriate products and services to satisfy those needs.”

As area director of the Central region, Smith is responsible for the Kansas City, St. Louis, Minneapolis and Denver Spider branch operations. He will be based in Denver.
Tukwila, Wash.-based Spider is No. 66 on the RER 100.
