Cramo Reaches Site Hut Outsourcing Agreement

Cramo, an international European rental chain based in Helsinki, Finland, has reached an agreement with The Hartela Group, one of the largest construction companies in Finland, to outsource building site huts. In the initial phase of the agreement, Cramo acquires Hartelas entire fleet of site huts, and then will take over the order for additional site huts that Hartela has already placed at Cramo Master, a site hut factory within the Cramo group.

The total agreement will cover about 200 site huts. The two companies signed a five-year cooperation agreement in which Cramo undertakes to provide Hartela all site huts, and the installation and service in the Helsinki metropolitan area and Lahti region.

“Outsourcing the whole site hut service to Cramo is beneficial for us,” said Jouko Granqvist, head of machinery at Hartela. “This helps us to estimate costs, but also to plan the whole construction project, because we do not need to consider this part anymore in planning. The delivery time for site huts may sometimes be too long. With this cooperation, Cramo will provide us the necessary equipment within a few weeks of a phone call and we no longer need to wait for site huts to be manufactured.”

Granqvist said the agreement releases Hartelas to use its resources for other projects.

“The flexibility from Cramo’s side is an important matter for us,” he added. “We do not see any sense in keeping empty site huts covered and stored outside in the Finnish climate, waiting for new projects to start. Now our own personnel do not need to maintain and install site huts for our construction.”

In other Cramo news, the company has acquired 70 TM-12 mast-type personnel lifts from Zip-up Svenska AB, the UpRight distributor for Sweden. The 12-foot units are widely used in Sweden in applications covered by larger electric scissorlifts in other markets.

Cramo Plc has 250 branches in 10 countries in Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe.
