A-Plant Donates Equipment to Aid Rwanda Orphans
Leading British rental company A-Plant has joined forces with WH Malcolm Construction Services, a major U.K. contractor, and several of A-Plant’s suppliers, to help hundreds of orphans in Rwanda who are looking to develop skills to support their families.
The Rwanda Orphans Project, which is helping about 500 orphans in Kigali, the country’s capital, has set up a vocational training center to help develop skills in carpentry, metalwork, plumbing, welding and electricity.
A-Plant and WH Malcolm has provided sanders, saws, drills, generators, angle grinders, welding equipment, clamps, pipe cutters and personal protective equipment.
A-Plant, based in Warrington, U.K., has more than 230 branches in the United Kingdom. The company is part of the Ashtead Group, which also owns Charlotte, N.C.-based Sunbelt Rentals.
