Spokane, Wash.-based Modern Machinery, one of the nation’s largest Komatsu dealerships, last week finalized its acquisition of Pacific North Equipment, a Seattle-based dealership formerly owned by Toronto-based Wajax Ltd.

Modern, which began in 1944 in Spokane, adds Pacific North’s four locations – Kent and Chehalis, Wash., Portland and Eugene, Ore. – to its existing facilities in Missoula and Billings, Mont.; Pocatello and Boise, Idaho; Spokane, Wash., and Magadan, Russia. Modern offers rental services at all its locations.

Modern Machinery president Brian Sheridan said the acquisition will enable it to “provide better prices, more equipment choices, and top-notch service and support.”
