Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.-based NationsRent last week reported a net loss of $43.9 million, or 77 cents per diluted share for the three-month period ended Sept. 30, 2002, compared with a net loss of $19.8 million, or 34 cents per diluted share, for the same quarter last year.

For the nine months ended Sept. 30, the company reported a net loss of $103.7 million, or $1.81 per diluted share, compared with a loss of $52.2 million, or 91 cents per diluted share, for the same period last year.

Revenues for the third quarter were $124.2 million, compared with $157.9 million in the third quarter of 2001. For the nine months ended Sept. 30, NationsRent reported revenue of $341.7 million, compared with $464.5 million in the same period last year.

On Dec. 17, 2001, NationsRent filed a voluntary petition under chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code to restructure debt. On June 19, 2002, the company filed a Plan of Reorganization and related Disclosure Statement with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
