Houston-based Doggett Equipment Services has opened a branch in San Antonio, theSan Antonio Business Journal reported last week.
According to the article, Doggett expanded into San Antonio because Southwest Lift, based there, went out of business.
Doggett has become the new authorized South Texas dealer for Toyota, Daewoo and Princeton forklifts, and will offer sales, rental, parts and service support. Southwest lift provided sales, rental, parts and service for Toyota Crown, Daewoo and Clark material handling products. New Bremen, Ohio-based Crown Equipment recently announced its plans to establish a San Antonio branch to continue to market Crown electric lift trucks in the area.
Doggett, which owns dealerships in Houston and El Paso under the names Toyota Lift of Houston and Toyota Lift of El Paso will do business as Toyota Lift of South Texas and is leasing Southwest Lift's former 30,000-square-foot facility. However, Toyota Lift officials said Doggett did not buy Southwest Lift.
