Louisiana Rents sold its offshore rental equipment inventory to New Iberia, La.-based Arc Equipment Rental, Arc operations manager Lee Price toldRER. Arc also took over Louisiana Rents’ Morgan City facility and will retain that branch’s employees.

Arc, which used to be known as Arc Welding, focusing on sales and rental of welding equipment, earlier this year hired Price, former general service manager for Louisiana Rents. Arc, owned by Ronald Rock and Jesus Moreno, obtained some investment backing and expanded into the rental business. Arc will concentrate on the offshore rental market.

The Louisiana Rents’ offshore equipment inventory, much of which was specially designed for that company by manufacturers such as Sullivan and Lincoln Electric, includes skid-mounted air compressors, air tools, welders, light towers and pumps. Arc will not be offering earthmoving items such as backhoes or aerial work platforms primarily because of rate deterioration in the area.

Based in Reserve, La., Louisiana Rents is No. 32 on the RER 100.
