Wacker recently opened a new visitor and training center for technical and sales training programs. The 64,000-square-foot facility is adjacent to Wacker's headquarters in Menomonee Falls, Wis.

Wacker management designed the facility with an eye on future growth and expansion. The training center features a 120-seat, multimedia auditorium with translation booths for multilingual training sessions, computer hookups, a large rear-projection screen and tiered seating. Its educational center includes five classrooms to accommodate smaller groups and a classroom with computer hookups for hands-on training in computer systems. The center includes four conference rooms, including a video conference room, and smaller meeting areas to allow for dozens of seminars, schools and conferences to be held simultaneously.

The training center features separate demonstration rooms for compaction, concrete/demolition, and pump, power and light product groups. The walls and ceilings are constructed with sound-attenuating materials. Each demonstration room is equipped with cameras linked to the large projection screen in the auditorium, allowing for live video presentations of equipment in operation. The technical service training area has a fully equipped repair lab allowing for hands-on equipment tear-down.

The center also has a museum documenting Wacker's history and a sample dealer showroom to share ideas on display and merchandising of product, accessories and parts. The training center also will feature a yet-to-be-completed, 3,000-square-foot wellness and fitness center, complete with physical therapists and exercise equipment, for employees and customers.

Wacker has developed certified technical training programs on rammers, plates, rollers, pumps, generators and concrete equipment.

Wacker also recently opened a new, 74,000-square-foot logistics center, down the road from the factory, to process parts and machine orders.
