Sporting an 18-hp, V-twin, air-cooled 4-cycle engine; heavy-duty transmission; and lower gearing, the UTV 1500 2×4 from Polaris Industries can carry a payload of up to 1,250 pounds and tow 1,000 pounds. Foot-activated, 4-wheel hydraulic disc brakes enable quick stopping.

“Most utility vehicles on the market typically have one forward speed,” says Tony Wixo, product manager for the Polaris Professional Series. “The UTV 1500 has a 2-speed forward transmission, low and high, which is beneficial for pulling load.”

Up front, independent MacPherson strut suspension with 4.6 inches of travel provides a smooth ride and eases steering. In the back, the progressive rate swing arm rear suspension delivers 4.3 inches of travel.

Among the list of standard amenities are an audible reverse alarm, an ergonomically designed dash that includes a glove box and an additional storage compartment, a trailer hitch receiver, dual 35-watt quartz halogen headlights, hour meter, electric start and a 360-watt alternator. The machine is backed by a 1-year warranty.
