HOUSTON - Prime Services, a member of the Atlas Copco Group, acquired Mike's Rental and Machinery in Washington state, bringing to 195 the company's locations across North America. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Mike's Rental and Machinery was a privately held, construction-oriented company with locations in Ellensburg and Moses Lake, Wash. No immediate staffing changes are expected as a result of the acquisition other than the departure of former owner Mike Forman, who has already left the company after selling the business to Prime.

Prime Equipment also opened five new branches last month. The locations are Houston; Sherman, Texas; Mooresville, N.C.; Florence, Ky.; and Salem, Ore. Prime has about a dozen facilities in the Houston metropolitan area.

Prime, with 193 locations in 23 states, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico, is No. 2 on the RER 100 along with sister company Rental Service Corp.
