General Wire Spring, McKees Rocks, Pa., recently honored Manufacturers' Marketing of Spring, Texas, as its "Rental Sales Organization of the Decade." General Wire sales manager Bob Gelman presented company founder Hank Klumb and owner Steve Klumb with a plaque recognizing "their noteworthy service to the entire rental industry."

National Equipment Services, Evanston, Ill., has named Don Irwin central region vice president, responsible for a territory spanning Michigan to Florida and including Falconite, Grand Hi-Reach and Tropical Ladder units, which account for about $175 million of annual revenue.

Irwin came to NES after 23 years with Brambles Equipment Services, much of which was spent running its mid-South region, competing directly against Falconite, the largest company in the NES group.

Mike Falconite, who has been responsible for the region, will continue with NES on a part-time basis, and will still play significant roles in acquisitions, start-up operations, buying and selling equipment and the development of NES' new remanufacturing facility, the company said.

Ransome Rents, the rental division of Caterpillar dealer Giles & Ransome, has named Brian Staley as rental sales representative for its new branch in Limerick, Pa., which opened last month. Staley has worked for Hertz Equipment Rental Corp. and Komatsu-FMC Rents.

Rosco Manufacturing, Madison, S.D., has appointed Stephen Wasilewski as director of manufacturing.

Ring Rent, a Tampa, Fla.-based division of Ringhaver Equipment, has promoted Tom Bauers to general manager, overseeing nine Cat Rental Store locations in central Florida. Ringhaver promoted Tim Geddes, former general manager and vice president of Ring Rent, to executive vice president, replacing Sam Hilliard, who retired in December.

Perkins Engines, Novi, Mich., has appointed Jeff Pink as general parts manager, responsible for all parts marketing, sales and development activities for more than 1,100 North American dealers.

United Rentals has promoted Dan Imig to regional vice president for the newly formed Highway Technologies Region. Kurt Barker will succeed Imig as regional vice president for the Midwest Region, which is being expanded to include the Chicago Aerial District. Mike Kneeland will succeed Barker as regional vice president for the Aerial Region. In addition, Kenney Perkins has been promoted to regional vice president for the Gulf Region.

Trail King Industries, Mitchell, S.D., has named George Fenwick as director of marketing.
