CARSON, Calif. — Multiquip finalized the purchase of the Stow Manufacturing operations from Bomag's Compaction America Division. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Stow will now be known as Stow Construction Equipment Division of Multiquip Inc.

The Stow construction equipment manufacturing will be moved from the Conklin, N.Y. plant to existing Multiquip manufacturing facilities. The Stow equipment lines will continue to include mixers, concrete and masonry saws, dewatering pumps, trowels and concrete vibrators for worldwide distribution. Multiquip also plans to expand existing Stow lines and add complementary lines as well.

Stow's inventory of construction equipment is being relocated to Multiquip distribution centers in Atlanta, Dallas, Newark, N.J.; Boise, Idaho; Peosta, Iowa; and Carson, Calif., to provide improved access to existing and new Stow customers. The majority of the Stow sales force will be retained, and Stow customer support and parts support will be based in Multiquip's Carson headquarters, according to Multiquip president Roger Euliss.

The acquisition expands the Multiquip offering of light and medium construction equipment, adds channels of distribution and further solidifies the company's position as one of the world's leading equipment manufacturers.
