Continuing the company's global expansion, Multiquip will open an office in Shanghai, China. No official opening date has been established. The location will sell and distribute the firm's line of concrete and generator equipment and will be managed by Shanghai native Xiwen Shi.

The office will serve China, India, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines with a focus on concrete placing and finishing equipment, concrete pumping and cutting equipment, dewatering pumps and concrete mixers.

In the last 10 years, the Torrance, Calif.-based manufacturer has opened distribution offices in Manchester, England; Quebec, Canada; Guadalajara, Mexico; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

“We are very excited about expanding our presence into Asia as part of an overall effort to increase international business,” said Multiquip president and CEO Roger Euliss. “Xiwen provides us with the opportunity to seriously enter markets in which we have previously had very limited exposure.”

In other Multiquip news, the company opened 43 service centers in the United States to provide full service and warranty repairs. Tech coordinators will service Multiquip's standard product line regardless of where the equipment was originally purchased.
