ATLANTA — Home Depot opened new stores in Uniontown, Pa., and College Place, Wash., last month. Both of the new stores include rental departments.

The company also opened a new store in Tarboro, N.C., in February. Measuring about 105,000 square feet, the store features a 25,000-square-foot garden center, a tool rental center and an expanded appliance department. The store, which features Home Depot's latest floor plan, has about 30,000 items in 12 different departments.

Atlanta-based Home Depot, No. 8 on the RER 100, has more than 780 tool rental departments. It currently operates 1,709 stores in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada and Mexico.
