What can the addition of air to a tongue-and-groove floor nailing system do for your flooring jobs? For starters, it makes them faster, easier and more accurate.

The pneumatic version of Porta-Nails' original Hammerhead, the Hammer-head 2, was designed with big floors in mind without sacrificing quality. It is suitable for nailing half-inch to 33/32-inch tongue-and-groove wood flooring and, according to Jerry Coleman Jr., Porta Nails' executive vice president of operations, it can be converted to a face nailer by changing the shoe.

"The Hammerhead 2 is our first pneumatic model, and it is designed to make flooring easier," Coleman said. "It is designed for those installing large floors such as sports floors and other large jobs where you need the extra assistance. It is a very versatile and robust tool."

The Hammerhead 2 requires a hammer to activate it, Coleman said, and the machine ensures the tightest floor possible. The tool's air chamber provides for rapid cycling with 90-100 psi, and it can hold up to 200 2-inch Porta-Nails. In addition, the device can angle and face nails and, like its predecessor, it employs the "preferred seating" system.

The Hammerhead 2 comes with a two-year limited warranty.
