VETERAN LOUI SELLS HAWAIIAN RENT-ALL
HONOLULU — Gordon and Norman Loui, who founded Honolulu-based Hawaiian Rent-All in 1963, sold their company last month to Paul Gibfried, a former owner of a metal foundry business, in a transaction that included all the business assets and real estate.
“I started retiring from the foundry business in 1994, but I wasn't a good retiree,” Gibfried told RER. “I wanted to stay active and because I'm familiar with many kinds of equipment, I thought this business would be a good fit.”
Gibfried said the entire staff of Hawaiian Rent-All would stay with the company and that the Loui brothers will continue during the transition period.
Hawaiian Rent-All is widely recognized as Hawaii's largest and most influential rental company. Paul Powers of Powers Associates represented the company in the transaction.
