United Acquires Shoring Company

RENTAL EQUIPMENT REGISTER STAFF

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - United Rentals has acquired Shoring & Supply, a Kansas-based distributor of trench safety products with annual revenues of about $8 million.

Former Shoring & Supply president Peter Bachhuber is expected to serve as a consultant, but will no longer run the company, which is based here, with branches in St. Charles and Springfield, Mo., and Omaha, Neb.

Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., New York, acted as financial advisers to Shoring and Supply.

In the coming weeks, United is expected to announce the acquisitions of several more companies with combined annual revenues of about $100 million, according to CEO Brad Jacobs.
