Twenty Gallons of Compact Compression for Renters

Mi-T-M customer service manager Vaughn Grimm says his company's latest stationary two-stage 20-gallon air compressor is ideally suited for the rental market and jobs that don't need portable service.

"It is built for rugged industrial applications, and we've tailored it to the rental and equipment markets," he says. "We've mirrored the quality we use in our pressure washers."

The AC2-SV09-20M compressor includes a number of features designed to accommodate the rigors of the rental industry, including a 9-horsepower Vanguard OHV gasoline engine with an optional electric start. The engine is equipped with a 15.7-inch flywheel that ensures extra cooling and allows the user to operate the compressor for longer periods of time, Grimm says.

Also, the compressor features a two-stage compressor head; an aluminum head and crankcase with a cast-iron cylinder; a 14-gauge, powder-coated belt guard; two gauges for accurate pressure; an idle control for added safety; drain cocks for proper maintenance; and a large canister intake filter. Another standard feature is the regulator, with regulator filters available as an option.

Grimm says the compressor's 20-gallon receiver is an upgrade from previous models, which typically featured only a 4- or 5-gallon receiver. The receiver is certified by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
