Treatment System Eliminates Grease, Oil

OilTrap Environmental introduces a new generation of electrocoagulation (EC) wash water treatment systems designed for treating wash water generated from washing rental equipment such as forklifts, scissorlifts, earthmoving equipment and more. The EL5-WR and EL10-WR are built with portability in mind for ease of moving the system to different locations. The treatment process is fully automatic, eliminating daily maintenance and does not require the use of filters or separation chemicals.

The ElectroPulse system uses electrocoagulation, an electrical-based technology for treating wash water economically and on site. The process is effective at removing emulsified oil and grease, suspended solids to sub-micron levels, and oxidation and removal of heavy metals from water. Wash water treated by the ElectroPulse system is of higher quality than mechanical filtration, the company says, and can be recycled or safely discharged to sanitary sewer. The average treatment cost is only $3 per thousand gallons, and it uses no filters or separation chemicals.

The ElectroPulse system is designed for ease of operation, so it is automated and requires little daily maintenance. “On-board processes will manage all daily operations including pH control, odor control and sludge management,” says Mike Davis, vice president of sales and marketing for OilTrap. “There are no filters on the system so daily maintenance is virtually eliminated and no separation chemicals are required.”
