Jose Perez, Sr., a director and co-founder of Miami-based Neff Rental, is spearheading the second annual ALS Golf Classic to raise money and awareness for those diagnosed with ALS - better known as "Lou Gehrig's Disease."

"As you may know, I live with the daily struggles of ALS," says Perez, who has more than 23 years experience in the equipment rental industry. "Fortunately, since I receive tremendous support from family and friends, I am able to maintain a respectable lifestyle. ALS affects several thousand people who are not as fortunate."

The charity event, to be held January 31 at Shula's Golf Resort in Miami, raised about $50,000 last year for the University of Miami School of Medicine's ALS Research Foundation. For more information on supporting the golf tournament, call 305/513-3350.
