JLG has upgraded its ES electric scissorlift series to improve durability, safety and productivity features after listening to feedback from its customers. All JLG ES Series models are now fitted with an onboard Multifunction Digital Indicator unit, which includes a battery level indicator and diagnostics code display. The indicator is installed in a protected position behind the right-hand battery cover and can simplify fault finding to help minimize downtime.

Safety and durability features of ES Series electric scissorlifts have been enhanced by coiling the heavily protected cable connected to the control box and routing it around a bracket in the corner of the platform. The new cable path removes a tripping hazard when deploying the deck extension and also eliminates the risk of the cable being accidentally crushed or becoming entangled in materials and equipment.

“Longer duty cycles, fewer potential leak points and a lower cost of ownership make the ES scissorlift range unique for the rental market,” says Howard Kaplan, vice president product parent for AWPs for JLG Industries. “The direct-electric-drive system on the ES scissors is more efficient than electric/hydraulic drives. This drive system significantly improves the useful life on each charge of the batteries, reducing costly service calls associated with dead batteries and enabling multiple shift operation.”
