Small Engine Offers X-Large Power

Though compact and lightweight, the EH025 mini 4-cycle OHV engine from Robin does not sacrifice power and durability. Offering the capabilities of a 2-cycle engine in a 4-cycle configuration, the air-cooled, single-cylinder engine produces a maximum power output of 1.1 hp. Including such heavy-duty components as a silicone-constructed, abrasion-resistant, aluminum piston; chrome-plated cylinder; forged steel rocker arm and power-metal-inserted cam gear, the engine is built to handle the rigors of the job site.

The engine is engineered to minimize emissions and exceed industry regulations. Producing only 10-percent of the THC-Nox emissions found with a conventional 2-cycle engine, the EH025 exceeds both EPA Phase 2 and CARB Tier II emission regulations. Featuring a quiet, low-vibration design, the unit meets EMC noise level standards and minimizes operator stress.

“The impact the mini 4-cycle engines have on the rental industry is the elimination of the need to mix gas and oil,” says Bob Jensen, territory manager. “I have no doubt that many engine failures of hand-held equipment in the rental industry are due to customers using straight gasoline or improperly mixed gasoline/oil in a 2-cycle engine.”

For easier operation, the engine features an automatic decompression system, resulting in fast, one-pull starts. The unit requires up to 40 percent less recoil pulling force compared to other same-class engines. Robin's lubrication system offers 360-degree operation while preventing cylinder abrasions and engine wear.
