SD Far East Buys Caterpillar Dealer

RENTAL EQUIPMENT REGISTER STAFF

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - SD Far East has agreed to acquire Caltrac SA, Caterpillar's heavy equipment dealer for New Caledonia, for an estimated $3.5 million. SD Far East is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sime Darby Bhd. The deal is contingent upon the approval of New Caledonia's foreign investment authority and an undisclosed major Caltrac customer.
